Reflecting on her initial challenges, Nicole states: "The very first day I brought Sebastien home, I realized I had no idea how to dress him for nighttime sleep." This realization launched her into extensive research, eventually leading to the benefits of merino wool. She says, "In the depths of these discoveries, merino wool emerged as a game-changer, offering natural temperature regulation and moisture-wicking properties crucial for newborns." Determined to fill a noticeable gap in the market, Nicole's entrepreneurial spirit was ignited, leading to the birth of Sleepy Sheep Baby Co.

In developing her sleepwear line, Nicole's primary concern was ensuring compliance with safety standards while maintaining comfort for the baby. "When designing our sleepsuit, my absolute main concern was that babies would be warm enough at night while complying with the Public Health Agency of Canada's Safe Sleep Guidelines," Nicole explains. By choosing merino wool, she tapped into a material that provided warmth and breathability, perfect for creating a microclimate around the baby's body.
Safety is a non-negotiable aspect of Sleepy Sheep, with every product designed to meet the highest standards. Nicole emphasizes, "We are dedicated to following guidelines and regulations set by Health Canada, ensuring our materials meet safety requirements, free from harmful chemicals and toxins." The choice of merino wool aligns with this commitment, leveraging its natural flame-resistant and hypoallergenic properties.

Expanding to cute spring colours and extending the sizing of our footed sleepers are just the beginning," she shares. The company's vision is to continue innovating, offering a wider range of safe, comfortable sleep options for babies and toddlers alike.
